Foundation A - *Gustav's story

Gustav, a SunnyKids graduate, started Grade 1 at a primary school in De Doorn in the beginning of 2021.  In November 2021 his mother visited his old teachers at SunnyKids and thanked them for giving her son a brighter future. 

Gustav came home with his school report - he is a straight A student.  Not a single B.  Well Done, Gustav and a shout out to his teachers and family.

After attending Sunny Kids, Gustav enrolled at a primary school in De Doorns at the beginning of 2021. At the end of his Grade 1 year, his teacher said she hadn't seen such a well-developed child with such strong academic aptitude and emotional maturity in a long time. He is by far the strongest learner in the class and achieves 7s in every subject. In addition to grasping new concepts, he is eager to learn new things. Whenever he makes a mistake he will investigate WHY he didn’t get it right, because he does not want to make the same mistake again.

His teacher speaks highly of him, especially about how he helps the other children in the class, in the kindest and most generous way. Taking initiative is one of his strengths. He began to write his own letters and put them on his teacher's table. Soon, the other children also started to write letters to the teacher. She also compliments him on the manner in which he offers to help and encourage fellow students to do their best. Whenever he sees a classmate struggle to finish a sentence he offers to help or encourages them to draw a picture instead.

According to her, he is a boy with a lot of confidence and big dreams and her wish for him is to remain so inquisitive, enthusiastic, and helpful.
